I thought that these were big dreams, and at the time they were; but now, 4 years later, I've completed all of them and I am starting to feel old because of it. So last night I decided to work on a new bucket list of things to achieve by the time I die so that hopefully I will start to feel my age again :) This list is pretty fluid because I know that some things might not be reasonable, I'll just have to wait and see where the future takes me. Here is what I came up with last night:
1. Learn Portuguese (Dusty and I started on this in the beginning of February and now I can say a few short phrases and name everything in the bathroom)
3. Visit Egypt, Africa, India, Brazil and China
5. Have a family (I want 4 or 5 kids and hopefully and I get to adopt some of them!)
6. Raise my children bilingual (Thats why I'm learning Portuguese)
7. Buy a house
8. Drive across the country in a convertible with the top down
9. Learn how to throw a football perfectly (Dusty says I need to be able to do this in case he dies early so that we can raise a family of football players)
10. Grow out my hair so it touches the middle of my back (Im working on this one currently, I've been growing it for 8 months so now it at least touches my shoulders)
11. Go to the dentist and not have any cavities (My dentist says this is impossible because I have no enamel on my teeth but I can at least try)
12. Publish a paper in a scholarly public health journal (I've already written one that I want to work on publishing in the future)
13. Reduce childhood obesity by educating mothers about the effect of neonatal care on their children's life
14. Have lasik eye surgery
15. Get a Master's degree
16. Help a country after a natural disaster
17. Start a nonprofit organization that deals with healthcare and health programs in a developing country
18. Take my family to work for the nonprofit organization during summer breaks from school
19. Write a book
20. Read the scriptures daily for the rest of my life
21. Read the entire Book of Mormon without being asked to by someone else (I'm almost done with this one)
Hopefully by having new goals in life I won't feel as old anymore, and now I have something to look forward to when I graduate in April!
