Sleeping Beauties

Sleep is such a precious commodity now and for some reason Dusty and I love taking pictures of one another sleeping. We both try to be super sneaky but we usually wake the other one up. Here is our collection of sleeping beauties.

Russian Lily

Lily has this hat that Dusty thinks is the best thing ever. He is going to be so sad when she grows out of it. It makes him think of a Russia so we tease her about being Russian when she wears it.

Finally I Got To Bathe Lily

Dusty's a bath hog... he gets it from his mom. They both love baby bath time and don't like to share it. It doesn't bother me but it means that I haven't had a chance to bathe Lily until tonight. I think I did a pretty good job since she smiled the entire time.

Pensive

When Lily woke up this morning Dusty got her and pulled her into bed with us. She was super pensive. She just wanted to stare around the room and didn't feel like playing. I wonder what's on her mind.

Snuggles

Lily must be missing all of the company we had over the weekend. All she wants to do is snuggle the blanket my mom made her today. Only one month until we get to see them though!

Sorry Ladies My Daddy is Taken

My mom and I bought a decal to put on a onesie for Dusty's birthday and Lily's finally big enough to fit into it. Unfortunately she wouldn't hold still so her legs and hand are blurry but you can still see the onesie. She wore it up to campus when we walked to there to meet Dusty today.

Bath Time

I'm sure I'll write a few posts about bath time because it's Lily's favorite part of the day. Right now Dusty gives Lily a bath every night. It's their bonding time after Dusty gets home. I know we don't have to bathe her every day but she adores it. She splashes and relaxes. We just upgraded her from her sink to her baby bath and she's loving the extra wiggle room.

After bath time I get to snuggle Lily to sleep, that's the best part of my day.

New Blanket from Grandmom

My mom has been working on a blanket for Lily in her free time (which doesn't really exist) and we finally got it today. I love it! It's going to become our new tummy time blanket.

First Flight

Dusty came to fly home with Lily and I after our week in Seattle. I was nervous enough flying on a prop plane and didn't want the added stress of flying with Lily alone. The flight was fine, the only annoying part was the flight attendants thinking that they could touch Lily every time they walked past. Eventually we just held Lily as close to the window as possible so that she was unreachable. Lily didn't cry at all on the flight, mostly she slept. She's just perfect!

Lily's first month

Lily and I were in Seattle when she turned 1 month. We went to spend a week with my in-laws while Dusty caught up with school work. It turns out that he likes being home with Lily much more than he likes school so he started to fall behind a little bit. He's all caught up now and we're hoping it doesn't happen again.

The first month with Lily flew by! We had lots of good company and a little alone time with her. We just love her so much! She's loves to stare intently right over your shoulder and fakes sleep sometimes. She always growls when she eats or right when she falls asleep. It reminds me of a cat. She adores bath time. She could sit in the water all day if we'd let her. We've started making bath rime a nightly ritual since she likes it so much. It relaxes her right to sleep. Lily lover to swing in her swing and will sleep for hours at a time in it if we let her. She also likes to go for walks and drives. Any motion puts her to sleep. She started cooing... well I've been told its cooing but its really just a lot of grunting when she is happy. She outgrew all of her newborn clothes which made me super sad, I loved how tiny they were! I love playing dress-up with her. She almost always has a flower or bow on. Dusty keeps telling me that she hates them but I'm pretty sure that it's him that hates them and not her. She is just so cute, we can't get enough of her.

Church Debut

Lily went to church for the first time while we were staying with Randy and Susie. My mom bought her that super cute little dress. I absolutely love it! She lasted through sacrament meeting and then we went home. It was so nice to go back to church after staying home for a month.

Daddy Time

Dusty and Lily adore each other and I think it is the most wonderful thing in the world. He has a hard time going to school in the morning because he want's to spend all of his time holding Lily. I have to get all of my Lily fix out before he gets home at night because he will hold her until we put her to bed.

This is how they snuggle after he gets home from school

Reading Lily her first book, Yertle the Turtle

She loves sucking on his nose, I told him he had to stop because it was gross!

We left him for a week so that he could catch up on his schoolwork. He wouldn't let go of her to put her in the carseat.

I am so blessed to have a husband that loves his little girl as much as Dusty does.

Grandmom Comes for a Visit

My mom came and stayed with us for two weeks. I can't remember the last time I had this much one on one time with her and I LOVED it! We crafted, went for a lot of walks, ate great food and just hung out. I am so grateful that she was able to take that much time off of work to come stay with us.

Burping Lily the day my mom got into town

We celebrated Lily's 2 week birthday with Angel Food cake (we made a new Angel Food cake every few days)

We took some more pictures of Lily while she was sleeping. We tried to get some family one's but Lily wouldn't cooperate.

We went out to lunch after getting Lily's pictures taken

Right before my mom left, it was so sad to see her go! We're excited to see her in October for Lily's blessing!
